Would you like to volunteer as a local host for CMHA Recovery College in your rural community?
Recovery College Central Alberta will provide volunteer training to hosts that will help people in your community participate in our online mental health and wellness classes locally.
The local volunteers will also be trained to help people use their own technology (ex: personal computer/tablet) so that they can participate in other Recovery College programming as well.
Our educational-based approach focuses on helping people recognize and develop their own resourcefulness and awareness in order to support themselves or their loved one’s journey. All of our classes are developed and delivered with our peer supporters who are experts by experience: they have their own story of a mental health or substance concern or are supporting a loved one. Recovery College is not a substitute for professional psychiatric care but rather an adjunct that concentrates on helping people develop skills, relationships and coping strategies.
