Our Friendship Circle Support Group focuses on developing relationships, learning together and having a good time. We meet on-line over Zoom and in our Learning Centre at Suite 303, 4805 48 Street in downtown Red Deer. Once you have enrolled, you can drop-in every week. Do you face barriers when you try to speak up for yourself? In this 4-week course, we will explore ways to advocate for yourself with your medical professionals, in the workplace, and in your personal relationships.

Come write with us! No experience is required. Writing is good for your brain and wellness. We will spend time writing each week based on prompts from poetry, literature, pictures, or sounds. Then we will listen to each other’s writing (reading what you wrote is optional, of course) and highlight the strengths and creativity displayed by our fellow writers. This group is for adults and is open to all levels of writing. Everyone can create! Creative Writing for Wellness meets for one hour, both in person and online.  Register on this website. Do you find it hard to start a conversation? Or once it’s started, flounder to keep it going? Are you uncomfortable with difficult conversations? This course will help you strengthen your conversation skills and explore ways to constructively handle conflict.  It is hard to get a conversation started, and even harder to keep the conversation going! Throughout this course you will learn about communication tools which help create meaningful relationships and friendships. The Road to Recovery consists of a series of topics that strengthen your recovery journey such as resilience, the dignity of risk, hope and gratitude amongst others. The course also explores barriers to recovery such as perfectionism, fear and negative thoughts. Throughout the course meditations, grounding exercises and cognitive tools are introduced and practiced.  

Caregiver Connections is a peer support group to help parents, partners, and caregivers of those with a mental health concern and/or addiction to support one another. This program is offered on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 PM to 7ish. We meet on-line over Zoom and in our Learning Centre at Suite 303, 4805 48 Street in downtown Red Deer. Once you have enrolled, you can drop-in every week. Our plan for 2022 is to alternate between information and skills from our Finding Your Balance classes and free ranging discussion.
